Introduction

The continuing interest of musicians know anywhere in the world led to predictable questions to my daughter Mary Joseph and her husband Sebastian (living in Dublin since July 2001) about the presence of jazz in the Irish capital. The invariable answer: "Yes, in Ireland there are good jazz musicians, there are pubs where they play specific, concerts and festivals are making regularly visit the island leading figures from around the world.
In the first family visit in March 2003, on a narrow street we found a local (Paul Ryan Music ) dedicated to the sale of wind musical instruments. With the feeling of in the right place after seeing some accessories, I asked Paul Ryan, the owner, "
Where I can hear good jazz in Dublin?

The response gave rise to this short history. Introduction

Isotope

A very pleasant surprise to hear this quartet of high level musicians in a very appropriate environment to listen carefully and tranquility.
enthusiastically greet that night in March 2003 and there was no doubt of the hierarchy of jazz in Ireland.

Here you can see a newly discovered video site YouTube, in a Thursday at JJ's:
party of one of Michael Buckley on tenor saxophone, full only Hugh Buckley on guitar and solo - unfortunately truncated in the shoot-from Richie Buckley on tenor sax.

Michael and Richie are hermanos, en tanto que Hugh es primo de ambos.

Isotope
It was certainly a nice surprise to listen to this quartet; high-level musicians in a very appropriate atmosphere for listening attentively and peacefully.

That evening in March 2003, we greeted them with lots of enthusiasm, and there was no doubt about the hierarchy of Irish jazz.

Here you can watch a video of an evening at JJ's that was recently found on the YouTube site:
It starts with a tenor sax solo by Michael Buckley, goes on with a complete guitar solo by Hugh Buckley, and then there’s a tenor sax solo by Richie Buckley, which is unfortunately incomplete.

Are brothers Michael and Richie, while Hugh is Their cousin.

Reunion in 2006 St. Patrick's Eve

This is the government agency that is responsible for promoting the best of Irish art in assisting the development of international cultural relations of that country. It was created in 2005 and reports to the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism. Hugh
